High School Rugby Team Stays Unbeaten
Cleveland,Oh - The Stark County High School Rugby Team traveled to Cleveland
Sunday to take on the Parma High School Rugby Team. Stark County jumped
out early to take a 5-0 lead when Malcolm Gager of Sandy Valley delivered
a pop pass to Terrious Ross of Glenoak, who ran in for the first of many
tries of the day. On the next drive Stark County continued to put on the
offensive pressure with their forwards and backs, maintaining possession
until Ross had his second try on a 15-meter run. With the extra point
kick after by Gager the local boys had a 12-0 lead. Parma answered back
with a try of their own to make the score 12-5. Midway through the first
half the Stark County High School Team started the next score drive off
of a line out and the forwards mauled their way down the field as Chris
Wright of Jackson broke free and scored down the sideline on a 30-meter
try to make the score 17-5. At the end of the first half Parma added another
score to tighten things up to 17-10. At the start of the second half Stark
County answered back with another long drive that saw the ball go through
many hands until Wright scored from 15 meters out, 22-10. Not giving up,
Parma again answered back with a score of their own to bring the match
to 22-15. In the closing minutes out of a scrum down Dustin Hamric of
Glenoak ran the ball and delivered a pop pass to Ross for his third score
to secure the win for the Stark County High School Rugby Team, final score

As the rain let up so did the offense for the Stark County HS Rugby Club,
on a penality play Malcolm Gager of Sandy Valley scored from 20 meters
out to exteed the lead to 10-0. Midway through 2nd half Terrious Ross
scored (2) long 40 meter tries to stretch the lead to 20-0. Late in the
game has time was winding down Allen Steffl secured the Stark County High
School Rugby Teams first win of the season with a 5 meter try. Final score
